Xeeku Twiter client for Andorid shortlisted as best free twitter app by M

Posted by BeyondSoftConsulting on October 26, 2009

Xeeku Twitter is a full featured free Twitter client which is most elegant and refreshing among all Twitter clients. It is shortlisted as best free twitter app by  Matt Silverman at Meshable
Summary of the review:

Advanced tweet manipulation. Selecting a tweet allows you to reply, retweet, go to a user profile, go to a mentioned profile, go to links, and search hashtags. These options are available throughout. Another handy choice is “Gmail Share” which will paste the tweet URL into a new e-mail message for sharing with your Twitterphobic friends and family.

Other smart features include photo uploadtrending topics@reply notifications, andsaved searches.

Interesting features. Xeeku has some unique functions that I haven’t seen in other apps:

By selecting Recent Conversation from any user’s tweets, Xeeku will line up the @replies you’ve been trading with that user so you can read them in succession.

Clicking on a user’s profile will load their timeline and stats, as well as a “friend drawer” which shows the photos of the users they follow, much like a profile page on Twitter.

Selecting “Gallery” from the main menu loads a random selection of “Featured User Photos” from twitter.xeeku.com. This is a fun way to see what users are uploading and find interesting people to follow.

Find out more at:

1. Mobilized introduction web page: http://twitter.xeeku.com/mini_intro.php

3. Swsocial.com “Xeeku Twitter Review!” http://www.swsocial.com 4. AndroidGuys.com “App Review: Xeeku Twitter”
XeekuTwitter is a full featured Twitter client which is most elegant and refreshing among all Twitter clients.

Flash mobile App: the game changer for smartphone development

Posted by DavidCao01 on June 23, 2009

Consumers love iPhone.  Google,  Nokia, Moto, can only play catch-up. But developers don’t. How many developers can switch from Java or  Flash and become an Object C expert? Not many, and not enough incentive any more. With the large drop of revenue expectation from small iPhone app publishers (majority of new commers in App store don’t have net profit), developer are looking around.

On the other hand, still there are tons of developers in the Java and Flahs camp are waiting for a good timing to jump into mobile development. Google gave chances to the Java folks, but most of Java folks are not good at UI. As result, those apps are not as attractive as the apps in iPhone.  But now, with the Flash support in Google Android, and likely follow by Sybian, Windows Mobile, (and Pre?),  you need to take a new look at how the developer communities behind each mobile camp.

Flash developers are much better in persenting UI than the Java folks (like me).  Vest majority of Flash developers are also good at UI and some of them even can do graphic design. Of cause, flash is much easier to code than Object C, than Java. So, making mobile app using Flash? This is going to change the landscape overnight.

Then there will be one big loser: Apple. I am hoping Adobe can develop a tool to convert an Flash app developed for Android to iPhone App. I am interested in doing it if Adobe doesn’t.

Check out what the Nokia folks are talking about recently. Apple is too happy with its profit margin now, but the develoeprs are not happy. Are you ready for the change?

Google Android’s Biggest Hope – China

Posted by BeyondSoftConsulting on May 10, 2009

MLogy – Google’s Android 1.5  is facing a tough competition in catching up with iPhone 3.0 in US, but not everywhere else. China absolutely is Google’s biggest hope.

China’s mobile released its version of mobile operation sytem recently, which is based on Google’s Android platform. With more than 400M subscribers, China Mobile failed to made agreement with Apple for its iPhone. As the result, China Mobile might be the largest operator for Android soon.

Besides OMS, several manufactors had reported plans to release Anroid based phone in China, of cause, not only for China Mobile. This makes China the biggest potential market for Android and most likely will not face the same level of competition it faced in US with Apple.

With a large resources pool of expereinces Java developers,  Android platform is far more popular than iPhone in the development communities.  Not only that, the Chinese operators and government all like the open source nature of the platform, so they can take over the control. I met lots of developers who are excited with Android development while I was in China one month ago. All of them were Java developers.
